The Better Part

HISTORY

"The Better Part" Celebrated its 20th year on Saturday October 25th, 2003.

The “Better Part" is a half-hour television show produced by members of the Cupertino Senior TV Productions Group, meeting at the Cupertino Senior Center and currently produce their shows at the KMVT15 Studios in Mountain View under the auspices of the City of Cupertino.

For the first 20 years The “Better Part" used the De Anza College Studios at the Flint Center on the De Anza campus.

This enthusiastic group of about 20 volunteers was started in 1983 and is still going strong. They meet twice a week to plan and produce programs "By Seniors for Seniors".

Over the years “The Better Part" has won both local and national awards, including several from the "Western Access Video for Excellence (WAVE)".

Programs cover a wide range of subjects of interest to seniors. Such diverse subjects as consumer protection, current legislation, financial and legal advice, medical breakthroughs, taxes and housing, are spiced with entertainment and humor -- the lighter side of living.
