HISTORY

Founded in 1983, "The Better Part" taped its 1,000 program on August 26, 2010 and it was Cablecast starting on October 26, 2010. It can be seen on YouTube.

The “Better Part" is a half-hour television show produced by members of the Cupertino TV Productions Group. They meet at the Cupertino Senior Center and currently produce their shows at the KMVT15 Studios in Mountain View under the auspices of the City of Cupertino.

Volunteers are always welcome, no experience required. You will learn at a class at KMVT and on the job with coaching from our members. You will need to be a member of the Cupertino Senior Center.

For the first 20 years The “Better Part" used the De Anza College Studios at the Flint Center on the De Anza campus.

Over the years “The Better Part" has won both local and national awards, including several from the "Western Access Video for Excellence (WAVE)".

Programs cover a wide range of subjects of interest to the community. Such diverse subjects as consumer protection, current legislation, financial and legal advice, medical breakthroughs, taxes, sports, gardening, food and housing, are spiced with entertainment and humor -- the lighter side of living.
